Early Years Baseline
Phonics
In Early Years we use Essential Letters and Sounds to teach phonics. We have a phonics lesson everyday with follow up activities to support this in 'Sparkle Time'. Our reading books are carefully chosen to support our teaching of Essential Letters and Sounds and books are chosen to match the children's phonic knowledge.

Early Years Projects 2024-2025
Maths
In Early Years we look to develop a strong understanding in number so that all children have the necessary foundations required for Key Stage 1. Through our teaching and provision, we provide varied opportunities to build and apply this knowledge and understanding.
It is important that children:
- Develop positive attitudes to maths
- Look for patterns and make connections
- Talk about what they notice and begin to reason
- Are not afraid to have a go and learn from mistakes
